Do you know an unsung hero?
As part of a campaign to thank staff for the outstanding work they do, we are looking for “unsung heroes”.
Nominations can be for an individual hero or a team of heroes, as long as they are Shropshire Council employees, or from a partner organisation that provides a service you feel is something to be especially appreciated and valued by the residents of Shropshire. Events will be organised so that our councillors, directors and heads of service can personally thank the heroes!
For suggestions of people or teams that you consider to be heroic, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject "Unsung Hero".
Thinking of buying software, equipment or putting something online? Talk to us first!
Please remember that you shouldn't purchase software, hardware or a new website/online service (even if it is just a plugin to your existing system) without consulting the ICT approvals board, as this will feed into the Digital Transformation Programme currently underway.
For more information, or if you’re considering buying a piece of software or hardware, please contact the ICT Approvals team - ICTApprovals@shropshire.gov.uk
Win panto tickets
To celebrate the first staff newsletter, Shrewsbury's Theatre Severn has kindly donated a ticket to this year's panto as a prize. The winner will receive a family ticket to see Cinderella on Sunday 4 December at 5pm.
All you need to do to enter the competition is give some feedback on the newsletter in the form of a single word or sentence. You'll need to email this to email@example.com using the subject title "Panto", with your feedback in the body of the email.
Jane Cooper nominated as a finalist for two awards
