Do you park in Shirehall car parks?
We're planning to introduce electronic parking permits for staff to replace the paper permit system in the near future. Once a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) is in place, all staff that park in Shirehall car parks for work will need to register their vehicle onto the new, electronic system via MiPermit. Further details will be provided, including full instructions of how to get an electronic permit.
Please note that the TRO is being put in place to stop unauthorised parking onsite and free up spaces for staff. There are no plans to charge staff to park at this time.
Cycle to Work scheme 2019
The next Cycle to Work window will open on 1 May 2019. The Cycle to Work scheme, offered as part of our staff benefits platform, will help you make huge tax and national insurance savings and get fit at the same time! Freedom, flexibility, affordability, increased health and fitness and cleaner, greener and more cost effective commutes are just a few of the benefits of the Cycle to Work scheme.
The scheme enables you to hire a bicycle and all the safety equipment from your employer up to a value of £1,000. The bicycle can be used for your commute and for leisure. The best part is the payments for the bicycle come out of your gross salary, meaning that you save up to 32% on the recommended retail price of the bicycle and equipment, and the cost is spread over a 12-month period. The cycle2work and cycleplus schemes allow you to make your selection of bike and equipment from any Halfords store or from a number of independent retailers.
Staff will be able to apply from 1–31 May; further details on how to apply will be published on the intranet.

From 12pm–2pm on Wednesday 22 May, the Trek Bicycle Shrewsbury store on Wyle Cop will be offering cycle and ebike demos on Shirehall's concourse; staff from the store will also be available to undertake a health check on your bike.
Project managers: the Shropshire graduates need you
The current programme of Shropshire graduates are undertaking an apprenticeship in Associate Project Management Level 4. The cohort of graduates would appreciate and greatly benefit from the opportunity to shadow current project managers within Shropshire Council or any external partners. Willing participants would need to be able to offer half a day shadowing per month for up to six months.
If you are interested in sharing your knowledge and expertise please contact Kate MacDonald, graduate/apprentice manager (email@example.com). Thank you.
