Shropshire young people win football tournament
A winning team of Shropshire young people supported by their personal advisers took home the trophy from the West Midlands Regional Local Authority Inter Football Tournament played in Coventry on 9 August.
Tom Moseley, personal adviser, said:
“It was a great day; there were teams from Walsall, Wolverhampton, Warwickshire, Solihull, and Coventry.
“After getting through the knock out on a sudden death shootout, we took on a team from Warwickshire in the semi-final. We beat them in another shootout and made it to the final against Solihull. After fifteen minutes the scores were level and we won it on yet another round of sudden death penalties. It was nailbiting at times, but the team played well together and held their nerve throughout.”
Cycle to Work scheme
The Cycle to Work scheme will open for applications from 1 September 2019. The scheme is offered as part of our staff benefits platform, and will help you get fit whilst making tax and National Insurance savings at the same time.
The scheme enables you to hire a bicycle and all the safety equipment from your employer, up to the value of £1,000. The bicycle can be used for your commute, and for leisure. The best part is the payments for the bicycle come out of your gross salary, meaning that you save up to 32% on the recommended retail price of the bicycle and equipment, and the cost is spread over a 12-month period. The Cycle2work and Cycleplus schemes allow you to make your selection of bike and equipment from any Halfords store, or from a number of independent retailers.
Staff will be able to apply from 1-30 September 2019. Full information, including a link to apply will be available on the cycle to work intranet pages from 1 September.
