Digital transformation update
The Digital Transformation Programme has continued to forge ahead, working to procure new and improved software across Shropshire Council.
This month, teams of users from across the council have been brought together to evaluate the tender submissions of software providers for the ERP, CRM and contact centre systems.
The evaluation panels are working with the Digital Transformation team to examine each of the supplier’s submissions to ensure that the preferred suppliers chosen provide best value solutions for the council.
Software announcements coming soon!
It's a particularly exciting time for social care staff, as an announcement on the preferred software supplier to replace CareFirst, should be made soon.
It's important to remember the reason for the Digital Transformation programme, particularly during these times of intense work. The aim of the programme is to deliver new IT systems that will improve how we as a council function, which in turn will allow us to improve services to residents.
Much of our software is very old, and in some cases no longer fit for purpose. Digital transformation will bring about some big changes to our software and the way we work – changes that will not only be felt by staff, but also our customers.
A special thank you goes to those staff who have agreed to work on the evaluation panels - it's an intense but necessary process. Credit must also be given to the colleagues of those individuals who have “picked up the slack” in each department involved.
In the next few months, the new social care software should be announced, with details of how it will benefit residents and staff coming first to this newsletter.
